About Me
HOW I GOT HERE:
BEYOND THE UX-VERSE:
“I accuse Professor Plum, with the lead pipe, in the library!"
The 90’s might have been all about grunge and slap bracelets, but for me, it meant epic board game battles with my older cousins. From hostile Monopoly hotel take overs to huddling around the worn down Clue board with multiple pairs of raised eyebrows. I'd often figure out their strategies and win. It wasn't just about winning, though; it was about understanding what their behaviours, their thought processes and anticipating their moves.
“Let’s go Lions!”
As I got older and reminisced my childhood undefeated Clue champion title. It dawned on me it wasn't just about predicting a game; it was about understanding the intricate dance of thoughts, motivations, and actions that played out on a larger scale.
This led me on a path to York University, where I found studying human behaviour from a social lens wasn't just memorizing theories; it was like being handed a decoder ring. Sociology equipped me with the tools to analyze patterns, understand social structures, and dissect the "whys" behind human behaviour.
“Less Gringotts goblin teeth, more human interaction”
While my education provided the framework, my understanding of people truly deepened working face-to-face with clients in banking. There, I discovered the power of empathy – understanding their needs and challenges. Working in this field unlocked another puzzle piece, the desire to create a positive impact, not just on an individual level, but on a broader scale.
This realization, coupled with my empathy for users, led me towards UX design. In UX, I can leverage my understanding of human behaviour to create user experiences that are not only functional but also intuitive and empathetic."
“Jean Grey or Wanda Maximoff? …either way Edna Mode says it best “NO CAPES”
I'm a big fan of pop culture, especially movies and trivia. From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Disney, my favorite part is finding inconspicuous easter eggs and sharing my discoveries with others, and diving into endless theories.
Channeling my inner Rory Gilmore
Outside of keeping my pulse on pop culture, you can find me happily caffeinated, sipping on a caramel macchiato and immersed in the pages of a good book, attempting to conquer my ever-growing TBR (To Be Read) list.
“There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here.”
A foodie at heart, I'm always on the hunt for the city's best-kept food secrets. I enjoy exploring Toronto's diverse culinary scene. From trying new restaurants with friends to then burning off calories with a VR workout,
